The 27-year-old actress is reportedly in talks to join the upcoming adaptation of "Into the Woods," led by director Rob Marshall ("Chicago"). THR reports Kendrick would play Cinderella in the film, a role that would put her opposite Chris Pine, who has signed on to play a prince in the film.
After her celebrated portrayal of too-cool-for-school girl Beca in the surprise hit "Pitch Perfect," Kendrick has become increasingly busy. She stars in the upcoming comedy"Drinking Buddies" with Olivia Wilde, Jake Johnson, and Ron Livingston, as well as appearing in "The Last 5 Years," "Get A Job," and "The Voices." Kendrick previously appeared in films such as "50/50" and "Up in the Air."
The film adaptation of the celebrated musical "Into the Woods" already boasts a star-studded cast. The upcoming movie is set to feature Emily Blunt, James Corden, Johnny Depp, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Meryl Streep in a compilation of childhood's favorite characters, such as the aforementioned Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Jack.
"Into the Woods" is expected to arrive in theaters in 2014.
