Publix debuted a full-service catering department this week in two markets in Florida.The Publix Aprons Event Planning Catering program offers shoppers customized menus, on-site meal preparation, venue coordination and serving staff for parties and events.
The Lakeland-based grocer has offered event planning catering services since 2001 on a limited basis, but recently combined the program with its Menus range based on party size and how formal or casual the event may be. Prices range too, but the most basic buffet-styled meal starts at approximately $60 per person.
The service is being offered in only two Florida markets at the current time - in Plantation and Jacksonville. It is unclear when the service will be expanded into other areas, like Southwest Florida.
